The robots are coming! The robots are coming! GCCS has joined a robotics league through The FIRST Lego League. FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. Their website says, FIRST is a “not-for-profit public charity [that] designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.”

Students ages 9-14 (by September 1) qualify for the team. We can have a maximum of ten on the team. We will receive coaching from Kathy Simpkins a teacher/coach who has taken teams to national and world championships. Kathy got to know about our school through the Challenge Island program held after school here at GCCS.
